Logo Design for a Local EAA Chapter

The board of the Washington Island chapter of the EAA (the Experimental Aircraft Association), Chapter 982, needed a logo design that they could use generally, but more importantly: They needed it quickly for an upcoming event, to be able to put it on t-shirts! I won their business with my quick turnaround time that would meet their deadline to get the art and still be able to get the shirts orders, plus my cost-effective pricing for logo work.

The brief included showing the island, possibly showing the famous Washington Island Ferry in some capacity, and - of course - including aviation! I generated a few concepts, and after they reviewed those and selected one and requested that the Ferry be included, I provided a refined version of that concept with options for the ferry and colors. They had a couple more tweaks, but then we landed on the logo shown here.
